Ecowaste is developing 170 acres of industrial zoned land in East Richmond to be known as the Richmond Industrial Centre. This industrial park is envisioned to eventually contain up to 12 large floor plate buildings for use by inter-modal logistics, warehousing, and distribution companies, with a total of approximately 2.8 million square feet of building space. Construction is scheduled to start in the fall of 2017.
There will be over $300 million in private funds invested in buildings, infrastructure, and green space. Construction will generate 2,000 jobs.
Once operational, the industrial park should host 4,800 full time jobs and generate an additional 1,000 plus indirect jobs. It will be a major source of new revenue for the City of Richmond, Metro Vancouver, and senior governments.
