Ecowaste is excited to announce the opening of our Wood Processing Facility at the Ecowaste Landfill site. This facility is designed to convert dimensional lumber, pallets, dunnage and other clean wood materials into biomass and alternative fuels. Utilizing European technology, wood is shredded to create a fuel product that can be used for various district energy, greenhouse and cement kiln fuel requirements. Metal and plastics are removed from the process to produce a high-quality biomass. This process helps divert useable products away from the landfill and assists energy users with reducing their greenhouse gas emissions by replacing fossil fuels with biomass.

 

This investment demonstrates our commitment to serve the community with superior recycling technology, aimed at helping the region meet landfill diversion targets, reducing disposal costs to our customers and extending the life of our landfill.
