Richmond residents are eligible for free yard waste drop off.
Residents must provide proof of residence once per quarter at the Scale. This information is recorded and reviewed automatically every three months. Proof is by a current BC Driver’s License or a current tax notice and photo identification.
Customers who are unable to provide proof of Richmond residency will be charged the current rate or the minimum charge, whichever applies.
Ecowaste also provides free drop off service to commercial landscapers and yard maintenance companies serving Richmond residents, both residential housing and multi-family dwellings. To be eligible companies must register in advance with Ecowaste providing details of the residence being served, and must provide proof and documentation of this service for each load delivered to Ecowaste.
Those commercial landscapers or yard and lawn maintenance businesses bringing yard waste to Ecowaste (other than those serving City of Richmond residents as noted above) will be subject to the fee structure. Companies will be required to identify themselves and either open an account or be registered in our system for tracking purposes.
